The Crossroads Hansastraße is in the district Bettrath-Hoven in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ).

The cross was built in 1899. It was entered under No. H 090 on October 9, 1995 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

location

The wayside cross stands at the confluence of Hansastrasse and Hovener Strasse in front of the former elementary school.

architecture

The shaft cross made of sandstone is approx. 4.5 m high. A pillar-like substructure with a flat, leafy niche rises on a multi-tiered base . The body is made of cast stone. The front view side is formed by a pointed arch niche with a console (for placing the monstrance during processions ). The cross stands on a base plate made of basalt lava that was added later . It is labeled:
