The Wegener Range are up to 1800 m high mountains on the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It extends in a west-northwest-east-southeast direction between the Maury Glacier and the Fenton Glacier over a length of around 70 km.
Aerial photographs were taken in 1940 during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) and between 1966 and 1969 by the United States Navy . The United States Geological Survey used this to map the mountain range. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it 1979 after the German polar and geoscientist Alfred Wegener (1880-1930).
