In Germany, white mice is a traditional slang term for traffic policemen who ride motorcycles and which is derived from the white uniform worn especially in earlier times.

Know Müüs

Wiesse Müüs ( Ripuarian ) is also the traditional colloquial name for the former honorary motorcycle escort of the Bonn police .

After Bonn was elected the provisional federal capital and seat of the federal government in 1949 , the Bonn police were charged with providing honorary escorts for the state guests. For this purpose, a motorcycle squadron was set up, whose members were quickly nicknamed White Mice because of their representative white uniform skirts .

In 1951 the police officers founded their own carnival association K.G. Wiesse Müüs eV Bonn , which is still one of the major carnival associations in Bonn. While initially only police officers could become members, membership has been open to everyone since 1953.
