Weißenhäuser Strand is a district of the municipality of Wangels in Schleswig-Holstein, which belongs to the Oldenburg-Land municipality .

The seaside resort on the Baltic Sea, named after Gut Weißenhaus , is located about five kilometers from Oldenburg in Holstein on the Hohwachter Bay and the north coast of the Wagrien peninsula .

Weißenhäuser Strand is connected to the Baltic Sea Cycle Route , which runs around the Baltic Sea as the European EuroVelo cycle route.

Weissenhäuser Strand holiday and leisure park

The Weissenhäuser Strand holiday and leisure park was built between 1971 and 1973 and offers a total of almost 1,200 rental units as holiday apartments in up to three-story houses, holiday homes and a four-star beach hotel. To this end, a covered gallery with various restaurants was opened on March 18, 1988. The holiday park also offers shopping, the jungle adventure park , an indoor playground, the subtropical swimming paradise , a water park , and the WaWaCo - Wa keboard and Wa sserski & Co . There are also playgrounds, an adventure mini golf course and an archery range. In the spring of 2019, the subtropical swimming paradise was expanded by 3,000 m² of new space and a wave pool. In June 2019 the attraction The Unforgotten Gate opened in the Adventure Jungle Land . Visitors can shoot at the original goal from the final of the 2014 World Cup and try to imitate Mario Götze's victory goal (it was voted "Goal of the Decade" in the sports show in May 2020 ). Animation programs take place regularly on a stage in the central village square . Another attraction is the soccer golf course, which opened in May 2018. All facilities are also open to visitors from the surrounding area.

Additional territories were acquired in 2013 and 2014. The site now covers a total of 100 hectares. The beach monitored by the DLRG is three kilometers long and divided into several sections, two of which are designated as a dog beach and about 400 meters as a nudist beach. From the central beach area, a pier leads a few meters into the Baltic Sea. The western beach area, directly in front of the cliff, is used by surfers when the wind conditions are appropriate. To the east is the Putlos military training area .

Music festivals take place regularly in the holiday and leisure park. B. the Rolling Stone Weekender , the Baltic Soul Weekender , Jazzville, Metal Hammer Paradise , Plage Noire or the Schlagerwelle.
