Reviews

The album was received very benevolently by the trade press, whereby the comparisons with Rammstein are both expected and justified.

“But dodgeballs want to be more than a well-made copy. That is why this time there was not a single Rammstein song, but only own compositions - which could very well have come from the pen of Rammstein singer Till Lindemann . Because Völkerball is only a few musical steps away from the original with their first album “Weichen und Zunder”. The topics are still the same. The musicians of Völkerball also play happily with the repertoire of pain, violence, lust and disgust. And leave room for interpretation. But they are more harmless. A real shocker - like Rammstein's " Pussy " - is not included. "

- Isabel Christian : Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung

“Lyrically, Völkerball rely on depth and plenty of room for interpretation and thus follow in the footsteps of the Berliners (Rammstein). In direct comparison, however, Völkerball is musically a little less hard, most pieces such as "Gnadenlos" or "Doktor" are mid-tempo numbers that score more with text than brutality. "

- Manror : MetalViecher.de

“'Weichen und Zunder' may not have the hit density of 'normal' Rammstein albums, but given the rhythm of the originals' release, the CD is definitely a good choice for all fans. [...] a clear recommendation to Rammstein fans to treat this CD to a test run in any case. Two or three more hits in the style of the aforementioned "radioactive" and "rotten meat" would have been nice, but for a debut it would have been a more than appealing performance. "
