The community was located about four kilometers west of Lichtenberg and about six kilometers southeast of Brand-Erbisdorf . The community area extended along the valley slopes of a small stream that connected to the Lower Großhartmannsdorfer pond . The main road, which connected the two districts with Großhartmannsdorf and Lichtenberg, ran through this valley . The towns of Berthelsdorf / Erzgeb bordered Weigmannsdorf-Müdisdorf . in the north, Lichtenberg in the east, Mulda / Sa. in the southeast, Randeck and Helbigsdorf in the south, Großhartmannsdorf in the southeast and Brand-Erbisdorf in the west and northwest.

On January 1, 1963, the two previously independent communities Weigmannsdorf and Müdisdorf merged to form the new community Weigmannsdorf-Müdisdorf, which belonged to the Brand-Erbisdorf district in the Karl-Marx-Stadt district of the GDR . In 1964, 1255 people lived in Weigmannsdorf-Müdisdorf, compared to 927 in 1990. After reunification and reunification , many area reforms were carried out in the newly founded Free State of Saxony , as a result of which Weigmannsdorf-Müdisdorf moved to Lichtenberg / Erzgeb on October 1, 1993 . was incorporated.
