The Christmas Orcan 1902 affected Skåne , parts of the southern Kronoberg County and Sweden's west coast. About 50 fishermen died, while only a few people were harmed on land. The estimated material damage amounted to an amount in the millions ( SEK ), based on the monetary value of the time. Among other things, the respective seaside resorts in Malmö , Mölle , Sibbarp and Varberg were destroyed. In Örgryte the steeple broke off and fell on the church there.
