The Weihrauch HW 94 is a blank gun from Weihrauch & Weihrauch .

description

The Weihrauch HW 94 is visually similar to the Beretta Cheetah, but differs from it in some points, especially in terms of safety, grip and sight. It is the only alarm pistol that fires 9 mm R revolver ammunition , making it the loudest alarm pistol. The pistol is available in the following versions: burnished, nickel-plated (each with black plastic grips or wooden grips) and a nickel-plated version with a burnished slide.

The pistol has a zinc die-cast slide, handle and slide catch lever. But there are also many steel parts that give the gun a long service life. The following are made of steel: all functional parts, bumper, hammer, spring guide rod and inner lining of the barrel. So far they have been available in four different PTB numbers: 467, 634, 695 and 855. The current PTB (-855) version differs in some points from the previous PTB numbers. Over time, the barrier was minimally reinforced and the barrel was narrowed. The quality, however, has not deteriorated. Only the labeling and the thread (currently M11x0.75) have changed. There is an external safety device that retracts the firing pin inwards so that the hammer has no contact with the firing pin. The weapon can still be loaded and unlocked safely, since the firing pin is an inertia firing pin so that no unintentional shot can be released. Thanks to the cocked trigger, you can fire the weapon in either double-action or single-action mode. The seven-shot magazine of the weapon is made of die-cast zinc and had to be specially designed due to the short rim revolver cartridges. In the newer PTB versions, a thread protector is supplied with the weapon, which on the one hand protects the fine thread from dirt and, on the other hand, enhances the appearance of the pistol, since the barrel blockage can hardly be recognized. However, the muzzle is reduced to 7 mm in diameter by the thread protection. Another improvement of the newer PTB versions is a rubber buffer inserted on the spring guide rod. With the help of the delivery cup it is also possible to fire pyro signal ammunition.

Use of defense ammunition

When using defense ammunition, cartridges with plastic caps must not be used. Defense ammunition that works without any problems in a revolver can lead to malfunctions in the feed or ejection of the HW 94 due to slight deviations in the length of the cartridges or the changed gas pressure. In the operating instructions, the use of certain types of ammunition is recommended for proper function.
