Holy water font (Saint-Macaire, Gironde)

The holy water font in the church of St-Sauveur-St-Macaire in Saint-Macaire , a French commune in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was created in the 13th century. In 1908 the Gothic holy water stoup was added to the list of listed objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The 1.12 meter high stone holy water font consists of an octagonal base with a column on top. The rectangular basin is decorated with protruding elements on the outside.
