Holy water font (Montilly)
The holy water font in the church of St-Pierre in Montilly , a French commune in the Allier department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region , was created in the 12th century. In 1918 the Romanesque stoup was classified as a monument historique .
The holy water basin made of a block of stone is 95 cm high with a rectangular base and the column on which the rectangular basin stands. The basin in the form of a capital is adorned with now damaged palmettes .
