Settlements in the municipality of Risch

In the municipality of Risch in the canton of Zug in Switzerland , in addition to the four localities, there are three hamlets recognized by the Swiss Federal Office for Spatial Development (ARE) and some hamlet-like scattered settlements, most of which are protected by local protection. Berchtwil , Breiten and Ibikon are classified as hamlets , with Breiten being a special case. Historically, the three upper neighborhoods can be separated from the rest of the community. In the postal and statistical system, the hamlets and neighborhoods are part of Rotkreuz .

The three upper neighborhoods

The three upper neighborhoods describe the hamlets and farms located higher up in the municipality, on the Rooterberg . In the historical context, these included the hamlets of Ibikon , Küntwil and Stockeri , as well as the scattered settlements in Auleten , Bachtalen and Breiten and some individual farms. Due to the local planning in 1970, the hamlet of Küntwil became part of Rotkreuz; through the structural planning of the canton train of 2004, Ibikon and Breiten were recognized and protected as hamlets. Historically, the three upper neighborhoods had special rights in taxation and education.

Berchtwil
Ibikon

In 2004, the Swiss Federal Office for Spatial Development (ARE) , together with the building administration of the canton of Zug, declared three settlements in the municipality of Risch as hamlets:

  • Breiten , which is formed by several farms, was not one of the three neighborhoods in the past due to its small size. Breiten has a viewpoint of the Zugerland and has vines of the Rischer Wein . Ibikon is connected to the post bus line 73. Due to a dispute between the canton of Zug and ARE, Breiten will lose its status as a hamlet. It is on the territory of the three upper neighborhoods.
  • Ibikon is located south of Rotkreuz at around 600 m. ü. M. on Rooterberg. In Ibikon there is a horse farm, three farms and a few houses. The post bus line 73 Rotkreuz – Lucerne opens up Ibikon. It is part of the top three neighborhoods.
  • Berchtwil is located northeast of Rotkreuz on the historic Rotkreuz – Hünenberg road. There are a few farms and a small animal zoo in Berchtwil. Berchtwil is recognized as a hamlet by the ARE and protected by the Zuger Ortschutz.

Hamlet-like settlements

These areas are often unofficially referred to as hamlets because they have the typical characteristics of hamlets , but are not protected as such. Most of these settlements include further farms and individual settlements as scattered settlements .

  • Alznach is a collection of a few farmhouses west of Dersbach. The field name Alznach can be traced back to the Gallo-Roman place name Alciniacum . Many of the other field names suggest a later settlement by Alemanni .
  • Auleten is a collection of a few farmhouses northeast of Ibikon.
  • Bachtalen is a collection of a few farmhouses south of Küntwil.
  • Dersbach forms the northeastern part of the municipality of Risch and is a scattered settlement made up of several farms. Freudenberg Castle is located south of Dersbach . The name Dersbach is also used for the adjacent area of the municipality of Hünenberg ZG .
  • Landhus is a collection of a few farmhouses south of Risch.
  • Stockeri , also known as Stocken , is located between Risch and Meierskappel on the Gotthard railway line . The former Meierskappel / Risch train station is located in the Stockeri. Stockeri is historically part of the three upper neighborhoods.
  • Zweiern (sometimes also called Zweier or Zweijern) is a pond-like settlement on Lake Zug north of Buonas. It has a lido and is close to Freudenberg Castle .

Farms and individual settlements

Other farms and individual settlements that cannot be counted directly to a village, a hamlet or a hamlet-like settlement are Berghof , Boden , Gibel , Grossweid , Kathrinenhof , Moos , Neuhaus , Ober Freudenberg , Oberrüti , Rütihof , Schönegg , Schönau , Steintobel , Sonnenbühl , Unter Auleten , Unter Freudenberg , Unterrüti and Waldhaus .

Defunct hamlet

The farm and hamlet of Gangolfswil disappeared with the construction of Freudenberg Castle . It was on the banks of Lake Zug north of Zweiern.

The hamlets of Allrüti , Blegi , Binzmühle , Halden , Küntwil , Rotrüti and Waldeten were merged into Rotkreuz through local planning in 1970 .

The collection of several farms along Lake Zug south of Risch was called Oberrisch , but is now considered a district of Risch due to the construction of several residential areas .
