The partially forested vineyard has a peak height of 355.9 m above sea level. NN and is part of the Frauenseer forest . It is located on the eastern edge of the locality of Gospenroda , a district of Werra-Suhl-Tal in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .
The mountain, which towers steeply above Gospenrodaer Sportplatz in the Märzgraben on its south side, extends to the Landerskopf in the north . The name "Weinberg" is said to be associated with the Frauensee monastery and is evidence of late medieval viticulture.
