Bründlmayer winery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bründlmayer winery in Langenlois is an Austrian winery in the Kamptal wine-growing region in Lower Austria .

The winery has been managed by Willi Bründlmayer since 1980. The vineyard area is 80 hectares (as of 2011), 70 percent of which are planted with white grape varieties, mainly Grüner Veltliner and Rheinriesling , but also with Pinot Gris and Chardonnay . The winery is one of the largest private wine producers in Austria. The best wines come from the Heiligenstein , Lamm and Käferberg sites . The export share is around 30 percent. The winery is also known for its lyre education of the vines and its sparkling wine , which is stored on the yeast for three years after classic fermentation - according to Hugh Johnson, "probably the best sparkling wine in Austria".
