The Gutzler winery in Gundheim in the southern part of the Rheinhessen hill country has been a multi-award-winning winery in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen since 1999 . The owners are Michael and Christine Gutzler. 32 percent Pinot Noir , 28 percent Riesling , 17 percent white Burgundy , 7 percent Silvaner and 16 percent other varieties are grown on 12.5 hectares of vineyards . The top locations are Worms Liebfrauenstift Kirchenstück and Westhofener Morstein . Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.

history

The Gutzler brothers took over the traditional family business in 1985, gave it a new operating concept and added a sparkling wine factory and a distillery to the winery. Gerhard Gutzler, the second generation owner, died on April 23, 2017, whereupon the management passed to the junior bosses Michael and Christine Gutzler.

Awards

The winery has been a member of the Association of German Prädikats- und Qualität-Weingüter (VDP) since 2006 , in the German Barrique Forum and the Winegrowers' Association Message in a Bottle since 2004 . In recent years it has been showered with honors and awards, for example:

  • Riesling producer award: Final participation with 14.7 points with the conclusion "above average", third place among the dry Rieslings with the 1998 Alsheimer Römerberg Riesling Auslese dry (1999)
  • Inclusion in the wine guide Der Feinschmecker : "The 400 best wineries in Germany" and the German wine guide Gault Millau (1999)
  • "Eichelmann Wein" awarded four out of five stars, Gault Millau three out of five grapes. The wine guide of the magazine "Der Feinschmecker" ranks the estate among the 240 best German wineries. (2006)
  • Wein-Plus awards three out of five stars. (2009)
  • Wine award from the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture:
