Futbolen Klub Welbaschd Kjustendil ( Bulgarian футболен Клуб Велбъжд Кюстендил ) is a football club from the Bulgarian city of Kyustendil .
history
The association was founded in 1919 and has been renamed several times in its history. 1953 succeeded for the first time promotion to the first division , but only for one season. Until 1995 they played in the second or third division.
After that, he was promoted to the top class again for 6 years. In the years 1999-2001, the team took 3rd place three times in a row. They were also represented internationally. In the first round of the Intertoto Cup they narrowly prevailed against University College Dublin AFC and were then eliminated by SK Sigma Olomouc . A year later, the first title was just missed. In the cup final, the team only lost 1-0 to Litex Lovetsch in extra time .
In 2001 the club sold the license to Lokomotive Plovdiv , who then took their league place in the same year. The Welbaschd team then had to start again in the South West V League, the third division.
