The Welcome Mountain (English for welcome Mountain ) is a 2505 m high and very prominent mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 8 km southeast of Mount Southard in the group of the Outback Nunatakker and 17.5 km west-northwest of the Sequence Hills .
Participants in a US team to explore Victoria Land discovered it between 1959 and 1960. They named it because it was the first mountain they saw after crossing the polar plateau for almost three months.
