Welsberg (Welsberg-Taisten)
Welsberg ( Italian Monguelfo ) is a village in the South Tyrolean Pustertal and a fraction of the municipality Welsberg-Taisten . The village is around 1100 m above sea level and has around 1500 inhabitants. Monguelfo is located at the point where the Gsieser Tal joins the Puster Valley and is traversed by the Rienz and the Pidigbach . Above the village is Welsperg Castle , a medieval castle. The parish church of St. Margareth , which houses several baroque works by the Welsberg artist Paul Troger , is of particular art historical value .
