Die Weltpresse was a daily newspaper that appeared in Vienna from 1945 to 1958 and initially also in Graz .

The paper was founded by the British information service and first appeared on September 18, 1945. Kurt Caro acted as editor-in-chief . The newspaper represented the views of the British Labor Government and was close to the Austrian Social Democrats . The last edition under British ownership appeared on August 31, 1950. After that, the sheet was published by Verlag der Welt on Monday and printed in the print shop of the forward publishing house of the SPÖ . From March 1, 1957, the sheet, which had been taken over by a group close to the ÖGB , was printed by Fritz Molden , but was already discontinued on March 25, 1958. As a follow-up to the world press and the Bild-Telegraf , the Express appeared on March 26, 1958 . Journalists Ernst Hagen , Theodor Ottawa and Richard Nimmerrichter , among others, were active in the world press .
