Bimdo Gönchen
Bimdo Gönchen ( tib. Bis mdo'i dgon chen ) or Bimdo Gönchen Trashi Chökhorling (tib. Bis mdo'i dgon chen bkra shis chos' khor gling ) is a monastery of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism in the Amdo area . It is located in the town of the same name in the Xunhua Autonomous County of Salar in the southeast of the Haidong administrative district of the Chinese province of Qinghai . The monastery was founded in 1402 during the Ming Dynasty by Lama Kashiwa Sherab Gyeltshen , a disciple of Tsongkhapa . It is located in the birthplace of the 10th Penchen Lama Chökyi Gyeltshen and has a memorial hall for him.
The monastery is on the list of monuments in Qinghai Province .
