history

Population development

The place name Kleingloms is first documented by a document from the year 1233, in which "Vlricus de Lobentz" was named as a documentary witness. The name Kleingloms is a Slavic water name, which means "brook with brittle slopes".

Kleingloms belonged to the Hirschbach rulership with its land, village and regional court authority. The gallows of the district court was located north of the village of Kleingloms, which is why the fields and meadows in the north of the village were referred to as gallows fields and gallows meadows. Kleingloms initially belonged to the parish of Weißalbern , but was assigned to the newly created parish of Hirschbach in 1741. Originally the place comprised three farms, two fiefs and two farmsteads, the mill was leased. By 1796 the number of houses increased to 12, in 1951 the place comprised 14 houses. After that, Kleingloms grew to 20 houses by 2000, although the number of inhabitants fell since the 19th century.

Buildings

The village of Kleingloms is a double-row village that has been widened like a meadow with rows of barns on the corridor side. The village mainly comprises three and four-sided courtyards, with the south-facing group with house numbers 1 to 3 having plaster divisions from the late 19th century. The local chapel was built between 1850 and 1852 and consecrated to the Holy Family. The almost square building has a groin vault with drawn-in five-sided closure, arched windows and a pilaster structure, a roof turret rises above the gable facade.
