Wenjing (Pengxi)

Wenjing ( 文 井镇 , Wénjǐng Zhèn ) is a large municipality in the southwest of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of Pengxi County , which in turn is subordinate to the prefecture -level city of Suining in Sichuan Province . The large community has an area of ​​66.6 square kilometers and is located in the north of the district, about 17 km from the center of Pengxi.

Wenjing is one of five ancient settlements in Pengxi. It has existed since the end of the Ming Dynasty and was named at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty after "Wenjing" Square with the old fountain of the Linwen family. In 1937 the settlement became a municipality. From 1986 to 1992 Wenjing was a district with seven subdivisions: Wenjing (文 井), Xinsheng (新 胜), Louge (罗戈), Xinlin (新 林), Puguang (普光), Xinxing (新星), and Fubei (附)北). Wenjing as a large community was established in 1992, for this purpose the three villages Wenjing, Puguang and Xinlin were merged.

The large community is divided into 23 administrative villages , 280 communities and a neighborhood committee. The villages are:

Wenjing has a county-based middle school, one city and five village elementary schools, a hospital, 23 medical care stations and a cultural center.

The proportion of forested area is one of the highest in Sichuan. The main crops are wheat, rice, corn and sweet potatoes, rapeseed, peanuts and watermelons. In addition, meat is produced in pork, goat, cannabis, chicken, duck, goose and other poultry farms. Products are exported to Chengdu , Chongqing , Nanchong or Suining .

The Jingzhong Temple (精忠 祠), which is significant for Taoism, is located in Wenjing . The complex from the time of the Qing Dynasty covers an area of ​​about one hectare and houses a horse racing track and a martial arts site.
