Nanchong
Nanchong ( 南充 市 , Nánchōng Shì ) is a prefecture -level city in the northeast of southwest China 's Sichuan Province and is also the largest and most important city in this region. This city has a history of over 2000 years. Nanchong has an area of 12,494 km² and a population of around 6.36 million (2010). Approx. 890,400 people live in the actual urban settlement area of Nanchong (2010 census).

Nanchong is located on the Jialing Jiang River . It is an important transport hub in the region and has a large silk, sugar and tobacco industry. The average temperature in Nanchong is 17.5 degrees Celsius. The city lies at 310 m above sea level. NN .

The district-free city of Nanchong consists of three municipalities, one urban district and five counties:
- District Shunqing -顺庆区Shunqing Qū ;
- Gaoping District - 高坪 区Gāopíng Qū ;
- Jialing District - 嘉陵区Jiālíng Qū ;
- district-free city of Langzhong - 阆中市Lángzhōng Shì ;
- Nanbu County - 南部县Nánbù Xiàn ;
- Circle Xichong -西充县Xichong Xiàn ;
- Kreis Yingshan -营山县Yingshan Xiàn ;
- District Yilong -仪陇县Yílǒng Xiàn ;
- Peng'an County - 蓬安县Péng'ān Xiàn .

Four highways connect Nanchong with other cities, for example the Nanguang highway leads to Guang'an in an easterly direction, while the Chengnan highway reaches the provincial capital Chengdu to the west. The newest Yunan Highway shortens the distance from Nanchong to Chongqing, the economic center of southwest China. A ring motorway connects the three above-mentioned motorways.
The Dacheng Railway Line, from Dazhou to Chengdu, runs through Nanchong. A new Lanyu railway line, from the northwestern city of Lanzhou via Nanchong to Chongqing, is still being built. The line from Guangyuan to Chongqing on this Lanyu railway line is already operational. The new Nanchong North Central Station is also in use accordingly. In the 2 main stations you can take trains to Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Wuhan, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Guangyuan.
Nanchong Gaoping Airport is located in the Gaoping District. You can fly from there to Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen , Kunming, Xi`an, Sanya, Lahsa and Hangzhou.
The city is located on the Jialing River. This river has its source in the northwestern Shaanxi Province and joins the Yangtze River in Chongqing.

A total of four universities and colleges have their headquarters in Nanchong. These are:
- Petroleum University of the Southwest (西南 石油 大学);
- West China Pedagogical University (西 华 师范大学);
- North Sichuan Medical School (川北 医学院);
- Nanchong Technical College (schule 职业 技术 学院).
Culture
The White Pagoda from the Song Dynasty (无量 宝塔, Wúliàng bǎotǎ) and the former residence of Zhang Lan (张澜 旧居, Zhāng Lán jiùjū) are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .
