Deyang
Deyang ( Chinese 德阳 市 , Pinyin Déyáng Shì ) is a district-free city in the Chinese province of Sichuan . It has an area of 5,818 km² and has a population of 3,810,000 (2004). Your capital and seat of government is the greater community Jingyang . The Baoji-Chengdu railway line runs through their territory.
The city was hit by a major earthquake on May 12, 2008 .
Administrative structure
The district-free city of Deyang is made up of two districts, three independent cities and one district. These are:
- Jingyang District - 旌阳区Jīngyáng Qū , 648 km², 630,000 inhabitants;
- Luojiang City District - 罗 江区Luójiāng Qū , 448 km², 240,000 inhabitants;
- City of Shifang - 什 邡 市Shífāng Shì , 863 km², 430,000 inhabitants;
- Guanghan City - 广汉 市 Gu市nghàn Shì , 551 km², 590,000 inhabitants;
- City of Mianzhu - 绵竹 市Miánzhú Shì , 1,245 km², 510,000 inhabitants;
- Zhongjiang County - 中 江 县Zhōngjiāng Xiàn 2,063 km², 1,410,000 inhabitants.
Attractions
The Confucian Temple of Deyang (Deyang wenmiao 德阳 文庙) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-393) since 2001 .
