Wenceslas II (Teschen)
Wenceslas II (Czech Václav II. Těšínský , Polish Wacław II cieszyński ; * between 1488 and 1496; † November 17, 1524 ) was the co-ruling Duke of Teschen from 1518 to 1524 . He came from the Teschen branch of the Silesian Piasts .
Life
His parents were Casimir II and Johanna, daughter of Duke Viktorin from his marriage to Margarethe, who was a daughter of the Bohemian nobleman Hynek Ptáček von Pirkstein .
Although Wenzel was the second-born son, his parents intended him to be the ducal successor, as the first-born Friedrich was destined for a spiritual career.
In 1518 Wenceslaus was appointed co-regent of his father. In the same year he married Anna von Brandenburg-Ansbach from the line of the Franconian Hohenzollern of the Principality of Ansbach . Originated from marriage
- a son whose first name is not known (1519 / 20– ~ 1525)
- Ludmilla († 1539) and
- Wenceslaus III Adam (1524-1579).
Wenceslaus II died in 1424, four years before his father Casimir II. About the posthumously born son Wenceslaus III. Adam took over the guardianship of his mother Anna von Brandenburg-Ansbach together with the Moravian governor Johann von Pernstein until the age of majority in 1545.
