Hynek Ptáček von Pirkstein (also: Hinko Vogelchen von Pirkstein ; Czech: Hynek Ptáček z Pirkštejna ; * 1404 - † August 27, 1444 in Rataje nad Sázavou ) was a Bohemian nobleman , the highest court and mint master in Bohemia and the decay of the Bohemian royal cities .

Life

Hynek Ptáček von Pirkstein came from a branch of the noble Leipa family . From 1420 he was owned by Rataje nad Sázavou and soon rose to become the highest court and mint master of the Kingdom of Bohemia and administrator of the royal cities. As a moderate representative of the Hussites , he fought on the side of the Prague units in the Battle of Lipan in 1434 . After Sigismund's death in 1437, he belonged to the influential group of nobles who boycotted the election of Sigismund's son-in-law Albrecht II as King of Bohemia, together with his protégé and future provincial administrator and Bohemian King Georg von Podiebrad . They tried to the Polish King Władysław III. to win as the new ruler of Bohemia. However, a Polish aristocratic meeting opposed this. Therefore, the only eleven-year-old brother Władysław, Kazimir was nominated as a candidate and elected by the opposition group, but could not prevail against Albrecht II. After Albrecht's death, who died in 1439 without a male heir, the throne was vacated, Hynek Ptáček von Pirkstein founded the regional alliance Landfried in 1440 together with other nobles . As its captain, Hynek Ptáček von Pirkstein called a meeting to Časlau in August 1441 , at which action against the robber baron Jan Kolda von Žampach , who illegally held several possessions in Eastern Bohemia, was agreed. In 1443, Hynek Ptáček von Pirkstein and Jan Čabelický conquered the Prague Castle . After his death he was buried in the St. Matthew Church in Rataje nad Sázavou.

Hynek Ptáček was married to Jitka von Kunstadt , a daughter of the Heralt von Kunstadt († 1408). After her death, he married Anna († 1452), daughter of Oberstmünzmeister Ulrich V. von Neuhaus . The daughter came from this marriage
