Workshop ship
A workshop ship is an auxiliary ship whose main task is the repair of ships or aircraft. Ships that are not only specialized in repairs, but also have other support tasks, are called tenders or escort ships.
There are workshop ships in naval forces , shipping authorities, at shipyards and in private shipping companies.
In the Federal Navy there were two workshop ships named Odin and Wotan , which were assigned to the naval arsenal in Olpenitz and Wilhelmshaven . They were decommissioned after 1990.
