Werle & Stankowski was a Cologne music duo. Their music typically consists of an acoustic guitar , a voice, and a variety of electronic sounds.

The band was founded in 2003 on the occasion of a film score for the short film "Una", for which the singer / songwriter Johannes Stankowski sought the support of the electrical specialist Simon Werle. Both had previously released solo demos and even vinyl in short runs and now saw the opportunity to add a few new facets to their work.

On March 29, 2004, her debut “Your Show” was released as a collaboration between the two independent labels Haute Areal (label by Johannes Stankowski) and Sitzer Records (label by Simon Werle). The CD version of the second album "Listen to Werle & Stankowski" was released on February 23, 2007 on the major label Virgin (belongs to EMI ).

Among other things, Werle & Stankowski were on the road as support for Blackmail and 2raumwohnung . They also played at the Lit.Cologne literary festival every year .

At the end of 2008 Werle & Stankowski announced their dissolution, which they justified with the respective longing "[...] for realization and uncompromising [...]". The farewell concert took place on January 30th, 2009 in the sold out Subway in Cologne.
