William Njovu (born March 4, 1987 in Lusaka ) is a Zambian football player . He can be used both on the defensive and in the offensive midfield.

Career

Njovu played in his youth with Chimparamba and Lusaka Edusport and during this time won several medals at the Gothia Cup . In 2006 he came to the first division club Lusaka Dynamos . In the summer of 2007 he completed a three-week trial training session at the French club RC Lens , but received no contract. In 2009, the Israeli club Hapoel Ironi Kirjat Schmona signed him , where he was able to gain a foothold after a six-month loan. He won the 2012 championship with his team . He then moved to league rival Hapoel Be'er Scheva , a year later to Enosis Neon Paralimni in Cyprus. Since 2016 he has been playing for Lusaka Dynamos again.

National team

Njovu was a key player in the Zambian U20 national team at the 2007 African Youth Championship and the 2007 World Youth Championship in Canada, where the Zambian team reached the round of 16 and just failed to Nigeria. He was also part of the Zambian Olympic team (U23), but missed qualifying for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In the Zambian senior national team he made his debut in the 2007 COSAFA Cup in the semifinals against Mozambique. He managed the goal to make it 3-0. At the end of December 2007 he was nominated by coach Patrick Phiri for the Africa Cup of 2008 in Ghana.
