Werner-Siegwart Schippel (born October 24, 1951 in Römhild ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1994 to 2014 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament .

Life

From 1966 to 1969 he completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator , belonged to the NVA from 1969 to 1972 and worked as a maintenance mechanic from 1972 to 1980. From 1980 to 1990 he worked as a foreman and in 1990/91 as head foreman at VEB Kraftwerk Lübbenau-Vetschau. From 1991 until his state parliament mandate in 1994, he was a senior executive at Vereinigte Energiewerke AG .

From October 2007 to December 2012 he was managing director of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) local association Lübbenau - Vetschau , in which he had previously been a voluntary member of the board. After years as a member of the Vetschau volunteer fire brigade , he was elected President of the Brandenburg State Fire Brigade Association on November 23, 2013 .

Werner-Siegwart Schippel is married, has four children and lives in the Suschow district of the city of Vetschau / Spreewald .

Since 1990, Werner-Siegwart Schippel member of the SPD and was from 1990 to 1994 head of the municipal council of the municipality Suschow . Since 1990 he has also been a member of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district council , where he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1992 to 2007. In 1993 he took over the chairmanship of the local SPD association Vetschau.

From 1994 to 2014 Werner-Siegwart Schippel was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament. He won the direct mandate in all elections: 1994 and 1999 in the constituency Oberspreewald-Lausitz III , then in 2004 and 2009 in the constituency Oberspreewald-Lausitz III / Spree-Neisse III . From 1999 to 2007 he was Deputy Chair of his group . In parliament he was a member of the budget and finance committees (1994 to 2004 and from 2009) and home affairs (1994 to 2007 and from 2010) as well as of the Parliamentary Control Commission (1994 to 1999). Due to his new professional orientation as ASB managing director at the end of 2007, he has only been a deputy member of the committees since then. For this reason, he also handed over the deputy group chairmanship to Ralf Holzschuher . After the 2009 election, however, he was available again for committee work. After the state elections in Brandenburg in 2014 , he left the state parliament.
