Suschow , Zušow in Lower Sorbian , is a district of the town of Vetschau / Spreewald in Brandenburg .

geography

Located in the area of ​​the Spreewald biosphere reserve , it extends north of Vetschau on a valley sand area over an area of ​​2.96 square kilometers and has 266 inhabitants (as of 2008). The road from Vetschau to Burg (Spreewald) and the Gurkenradweg lead through Suschow . The meadow pond is to the north of the village . The village belongs to the settlement area of ​​the Sorbs .

history

Traces of settlement dating back to the Young Bronze Age were found on a prehistoric burial ground found in the vicinity of the village .

From 1990 a new building area was built, orienting itself towards the meadow pond. There is a war memorial in the town center . On December 31, 2002, Suschow and Ogrosen were incorporated into Vetschau.
