history
Local history
The first written mention of the originally purely Sorbian Naundorf as Novam villam comes from the year 1315. The place name was mentioned in 1340 as Nauvendorff and in 1542 as Nawendorff . The German place name denotes a newly created settlement. From the 19th century, Lower Sorbian name forms such as Njabožkojce 1843, Ńamoschkojze 1847 and 1880 are passed down as Njabožkojce . These have no relation to the German place name and refer to a personal name Nebožk to which the suffix -ovici and -ojce was added. From Naundorf until the 20th century, further penetration into the Spreewald was only possible by water. The river running parallel to the old village road in south-east or north-west direction represented the connection to the only possible waterways in the Spreewald. For the farmers of the place there was a meal obligation for Dubkow, which is located in the middle of the Spreewald and can only be reached by water -Mill . A school existed in Naundorf at least from 1850. For this point in time, a joint school with Fleißdorf is mentioned, which was halfway between the two villages.
On December 31, 2001 Naundorf was incorporated into Vetschau together with Göritz , Repten and Stradow .
