The Werner Verlag ( publishing house number 8041) is a construction business publisher in Germany. The publisher's work focuses on publications on civil engineering and building law , procurement law and tenancy law (e.g. "The building process" by Werner / Pastor, the VOB commentary by Ingenstau / Korbion, the monthly magazines " baurecht " (BauR), " Procurement law "(VergabeR)," Bauwirtschaft "(BauW) or the" Zeitschrift für Miet- und Raumrecht "(ZMR)). The publishing house was founded on November 6, 1945 as Fritz A. H. Werner oHG (since January 1, 1948 Werner Verlag GmbH) in Düsseldorf . The aim of founding the publishing house was to provide support for construction, construction and construction law publications. Over the decades, an extensive range of media with magazines, books, loose-leaf works and electronic media for civil engineers , architects , construction companies as well as lawyers and legal decision-makers in public administration and the construction industry has emerged. The publishing program was later expanded through, among other things, tenancy and traffic law publications. The publisher currently has around 290 deliverable books in its range. Around 40 new publications and new editions are brought out in the calendar year.

The Werner Verlag logo was used from 1976 to May 14, 2007 and designed by the graphic artist Miroslav Trlica.

In 1994 Werner Verlag in Düsseldorf was taken over by Luchterhand Fachverlag in Neuwied, which in turn belongs to Wolters Kluwer in Amsterdam (one of the largest specialist book publishers in the world). On November 19, 2002 Werner Verlag GmbH was deleted from the commercial register, so that Werner Verlag disappeared as an independent publisher and only existed as a trademark of Wolters Kluwer Germany. On November 30, 2004, the location of Werner Verlag, 59 years and 24 days after its founding, was closed in Düsseldorf and relocated to Neuwied. Since 2007 the location of Wolters Kluwer Deutschland GmbH, Verlagsgruppe Recht (publishers Carl Heymanns, Luchterhand and Werner) has been in Cologne. From May 15th, Werner Verlag will bear the Wolters Kluwer logo.

The technical works (e.g. Frommhold / Hasenjäger , housing standards; tailors, construction tables for engineers and architects ; Wommelsdorff / Albert, reinforced concrete part 1/2) were sold to the Bundesanzeiger Verlag on December 31, 2014 .
