Werner Dütsch

Werner Dütsch (born May 30, 1939 in Düsseldorf ; † December 5, 2018 in Cologne ) was a German film scholar , television editor and producer.

Life

After training as a chemical laboratory assistant and working in the chemical industry, as well as in film clubs and film theaters, Dütsch became an employee of the Friends of the Deutsche Kinemathek in Berlin. In 1970 he moved to WDR in Cologne, where he worked as a film editor until 2004, overseeing numerous film series and broadcasts. From 1992 he taught film history as a lecturer at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne for twenty years . From 2004 to 2010 Dütsch was a member of the selection committee of the Duisburg Film Week .

Dütsch was also a lecturer at the State University of Design in Karlsruhe and was involved as an author in work on film history.
