Werner Friedrich

Werner Friedrich (born December 24, 1886 in Gumbinnen in East Prussia , † November 4, 1966 in Bad Honnef ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life and work

After passing the state examination and subsequent legal traineeship, Friedrich worked as a city and district chief in Kaunas , Lithuania from 1915-18 . In 1921 he was appointed advisor to the senior executive committee in Königsberg / East Prussia . From 1924 to 1932 he acted as district administrator in Mohrungen, East Prussia .

In the course of the dismissal of the Prussian state government Braun-Severing ( Preussenschlag ) he was appointed regional president in Königsberg by the Papen government in July 1932 . For this position he had in 1936 after differences with the Nazi party - Gauleiter Erich Koch resign. From 1937 he was briefly head of the Savings Banks and Giro Association of East Prussia before he was appointed ministerial director to the German Reich's audit office in 1938 .

Between 1948 and 1965 he was chairman of the board of the Königsberg Deaconess Mother House of Mercy . According to the parent company, he helped lay the foundations for the parent company to continue to exist after the eviction.
