Werner Hasitschka

Werner Hasitschka (* 1953 in Vienna ) is an Austrian economist and was Rector at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna from 2002 to 2015 .

Life

Hasitschka studied social and economic sciences at the Vienna University of Economics from 1972 to 1976 . He graduated with the Master , and then trained as a communications strainer, 1980, he was with a thesis on "Organization-specific marketing tools" for Doctor of Social and Economic Sciences PhD . In 1986 he received the license to teach (venia docendi) for the subject of business administration .

From 1977 he worked as a university assistant and lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. In 1988 he became an assistant professor and headed the external institute of the Vienna University of Economics and Business from 1989 to 1991,

In 1991 Hasitschka moved to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he became professor for cultural management . He took over the management of the "Institute for Cultural Management" and from 1992 also headed the cultural management course .

From 1999 to 2001 he was chairman of the university college. In 2001 he was elected Rector of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna by the University Assembly. In 2003, 2007 and 2010 Hasitschka was confirmed in office. His fourth term ends in September 2015.

Werner Hasitschka's main research areas are “Theoretical Basics of Cultural Management”, “Cultural Management” and “ Research on Values ”.
