Werner Jungeblodt

Werner Jungeblodt (born August 5, 1922 in Dortmund , † August 19, 1999 ) was a German lawyer . From 1966 to 1969 he was chairman of the Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People (BPjM).

Life

Werner Jungeblodt, son of the dentist Clemens and Martha Jungeblodt, studied law and was drafted into military service (Oberfähnrich zur See). He could only finish his studies after the end of the war. He was the district court director in Dortmund. In 1970 he became the presiding judge at the Dortmund Inland Shipping Court .

He has also been working as a freelance film journalist since 1949, including for film-dienst , daily newspapers, etc. a. In 1966 the Federal Minister of the Interior appointed him full-time chairman of the Federal Testing Office for writings harmful to young people . In 1969 Rudolf Stefen became his successor.

He held various honorary posts, including a board member of the Episcopal Headquarters for Catholic Broadcasting in Germany and a member of the Catholic Film Commission. He was considered one of the "most spontaneous, knowledgeable and persistent pioneers of Catholic film criticism".

He was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land . In 1973 Werner Jungeblodt was appointed Knight of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Maximilien Cardinal de Fuerstenberg and invested in the order on December 8, 1973 in Cologne Cathedral by Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy . Most recently he held the rank of officer in the Papal Lay Order.

Werner Jungeblodt had been married since 1954 and had 5 children.
