Werner Labsch

Werner Labsch (born April 15, 1937 in Kausche ; † October 23, 2012 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) who was a member of the German Bundestag from 1994 to 2002 .

Life

Labsch trained as a miner and then attended the workers and farmers faculty in Freiberg . After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Civil Engineering in Cottbus , where he studied civil engineering . He worked in this profession for a while until he was elected mayor of Cottbus in 1990.

politics

In October 1989 Labsch joined the SPD, on whose state executive he was active until 1994. In 1994 he was elected directly to the Bundestag in the Cottbus - Spree-Neisse constituency, to which he belonged for two legislative terms. He resigned from parliament in 2002.
