Werner Schaub

Werner Schaub (* 1945 in the Ortenau , Baden ) is a German artist and representative of important interest groups in the visual arts.

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 1966, Schaub served as a mountain hunter in the German armed forces from 1966 to 1968. From 1968 to 1973 he studied at the Karlsruhe Art Academy, from 1969 to 1973 he studied art history at the University of Karlsruhe and from 1973 to 1978 psychology and education at the University of Heidelberg. This was followed by teaching at the English Institute in Heidelberg from 1978 to 2010.

In 1979 Schaub was involved in founding the Heidelberger Künstlergruppe 79 eV, and in 1991 in founding the BBK Heidelberg.

Werner Schaub is chairman of the Federal Association of Visual Artists (BBK) and chairman of the International Society of Fine Arts (IGBK) in Berlin .

In addition, Schaub is President of the International Association of Art / Europe (IAA Europe) , member of the board of the Verwertungsgesellschaft Bild Kunst in Bonn , chairman of artist group 79 and the Forum for Art in Heidelberg, member of the Rhein-Neckar Artists' Association and member of the Rhine Academy of the Arts -Neckar . He lives in Heidelberg.

Honors

In 1988 he received the Willibald Kramm Prize from the city of Heidelberg, and since 2006 he has been the recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon . In 2016 he received the Richard Benz Medal from the City of Heidelberg.
