Werner Siems

Werner Siems (* 1952 ) is a German nurse , doctor , biochemist , physiotherapist and university professor .

Life

After attending school, graduating from high school and training as a nurse, Siems studied medicine at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Siems received his doctorate in 1982 at the Humboldt University with a thesis on the subject of quantifying the pathways of substrate consumption and energy metabolism in reticulocytes . He completed his habilitation there in 1987 in the subject of biochemistry with a thesis on the subject of quantifying the pathways of energy and radical metabolism in reticulocytes, Ehrlich ascites tumor cells and liver tissue .

Siems led a research group on "Oxidative Stress" and gave lectures for students of medicine, dentistry , biochemistry and molecular biology . As a doctor he worked in conservative orthopedics and rehabilitation medicine . He also worked as managing director and medical director in various physiotherapy schools.

Siems was visiting professor in Tokyo , Graz , Galveston , Los Angeles and Rome . He is honorary professor at the University of Salzburg and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences .
