Werner Theune

Werner Theune (born March 21, 1935 in Göttingen ) is a German lawyer and was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice from 1979 to 2000 .

Life

Theune passed the second state examination in law in 1963 and entered the higher administrative service of the Free State of Bavaria . There he was initially employed in the Bavarian Internal Administration and in the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture. From February 1, 1965, he then worked as a public prosecutor in the public prosecutor's office at the Schweinfurt Regional Court . In February 1968 Theune was appointed chief magistrate at the district court in Königshofen im Grabfeld . In July 1972 he became a judge at the Bamberg Higher Regional Court and in August 1979 a judge at the Federal Court of Justice.

At the Federal Court of Justice, he was a member of the 2nd Criminal Division of the Federal Court of Justice . He was also a member of the Cartel Senate of the Federal Court of Justice from 1980 to 1993. From 1992 to 1993 he was sent from the Cartel Senate to the Grand Senate for Civil Matters. From 1995 he represented the 2nd Criminal Senate in the Grand Senate for Criminal Matters and from 1995 to 1998 in the Joint Senate of the highest federal courts . He retired on March 31, 2000.
