Werner Trzmiel

Werner Trzmiel (born March 16, 1942 in Castrop-Rauxel ) is a former German athlete who - starting for the Federal Republic - was successful in the 110-meter hurdles from the mid-1960s to 1970 . He started for the Turnerbund Rauxel , VfL Bochum and ASC Darmstadt .

Trzmiel is a retired senior teacher .

  • 1965 German Indoor Athletics Championships 1st place
  • 1969 European Indoor Games 2nd place
  • 14 years "German record holder" over 110 m hurdles with 13.60 s, run in the semifinals of the 1968 Olympic Games (was a record since the introduction of electronic timekeeping)
  • Participation in the Olympic Games:
  • 1967 Participation in the continental war in Montreal: 4th place
  • 1969 European indoor record in Vienna over 60 m hurdles in 7.7 seconds
  • 1970 in the "Zürcher Letzigrund " 1st place with 13.4 s
