Werner Ziegler (economist)

Werner Ziegler (born January 31, 1950 in Eschenbach in the Upper Palatinate ) is a German economist and was rector of the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Economics and Environment (HfWU).

biography

After school education in Bamberg and apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at a utility company, he began studying business administration at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt , which he continued at the University of Würzburg with a degree in business administration (1977).

As an assistant at the chair for credit management at the University of Hohenheim under Johann Heinrich von Stein , he dealt with the research area: Early detection of insolvencies with a doctorate in Dr. oec. at the University of Hohenheim (1984).

At the same time, he was a long-time expert at a commercial criminal chamber of the Stuttgart Regional Court and lecturer at the Stuttgart University of Cooperative Education .

From 1984 to 1989 he worked for a credit institute in Göppingen , most recently as a department director in the “Executive Secretariat and Marketing” department.

  • 1993 to 2001 dean of the business administration department at the Geislingen / Steige site,
  • 2001 to 2007 Vice-Rector of the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Economics and Environment,
