Werner von der Ohe (sociologist)

Werner Dietrich von der Ohe (born October 18, 1945 in Reichenstein in Silesia ; † February 10, 2003 in Nairobi , Kenya ) was a German sociologist and university professor.

Life

Von der Ohe studied, received his doctorate to become Dr. rer. pole. and completed his habilitation . In 1991 he was appointed adjunct professor at the Sociological Institute of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Von der Ohe died in a robbery in front of his house in Nairobi, Kenya, where he had been providing development aid as an advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture on behalf of the Society for Technical Cooperation since 1994 .

Von der Ohe was married and had a son.
