Werner von der Ohe (apologist)

Werner von der Ohe (* 1955 in Uelzen ) is a German biologist and apologist .

Life

Werner von der Ohe studied biology and from 1994 was laboratory manager at the Institute for Apiculture in Celle of the Lower Saxony State Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (LAVES) in Celle . Since 2004 he has been director of the institute there.

The focus of his work is the harmonization of honey examinations on an international level as well as an early diagnosis tool for American foulbrood, the examination of the dangers of insecticides on honey bees and the use of bees in environmental monitoring. He is also chairman of the working group of institutes for bee research . In 2018 he was appointed honorary professor at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover .
