The Weser Bahn GmbH (WBG) is a railway company (PSC). It is wholly owned by Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) and covers its rail business.

1002 of the Weserbahn GmbH in Moers

WeserBahn GmbH emerged in 2001 from Bremer Vorortbahnen GmbH (BVG), which operated bus routes and a travel agency. She runs the Bremen-Thedinghauser Eisenbahn GmbH (BTE). In the period from 2001 to 2003 she was also the operational manager of Verkehrsbetriebe Grafschaft Hoya GmbH (VGH).

A tram line 11 was planned between Bremen-Oberneuland and Delmenhorst , which should run in downtown Bremen on the tram tracks of the BSAG, otherwise on the tracks of the DB. However, these plans were postponed indefinitely.

WBG is a partner in BTE (10% shares), VGH (25.1% shares) and Jade-Weser-Bahn (10% shares). At the beginning of February 2009, the WeserBahn founded Jade-Weser-Bahn GmbH together with Eisenbahnen und Verkehrsbetriebe Elbe-Weser GmbH (EVB) , which takes over the freight transport business. The seaport hinterland traffic to the North Sea ports and regional rail freight traffic are to be intensified.

The Weserbahn currently has one locomotive in stock: The locomotive with the number 1001 is an LEW V 100.4 rented by the Bremen-Thedinghauser Eisenbahn .
