The West Trenton Railroad Bridge is a double-track railroad bridge over the Delaware River between Lower Makefield Township , Bucks County , Pennsylvania, and West Trenton , New Jersey .
The arch bridge of reinforced concrete has been 1911-1913 of the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad erected and has 14 arc segments with a range between 26 m and 28 m. The pillars are 3 m thick, with 6 m chosen as the optical center for the central pillar. The bridge has a total length of 441 m and a width of 10 m. At the site of the current bridge was the Yardleyville (Centennial) Bridge , inaugurated in 1875 , a double - track truss bridge made of wrought iron , of which some remains of the piers in the river are still preserved.
Today the bridge is operated by the railway company CSX Transportation and is also used by the West Trenton Line of SEPTA .
