The 2004 West Asian Cup was the third edition of the competition. The tournament was held in Iran between June 17, 2004 and June 25, 2004 .

All matches took place in the Azadi Stadium .

The Iranian national team was able to use the home advantage and became West Asian football champions for the second time after 2000 with a 4-1 win in the final over Syria .

Attendees

The six participating teams were divided into two groups of three teams each. In the group stage, the teams played against each other once in the league system . The group winner and the runner-up reached the semifinals. The winners of the semi-finals played the final. Third place is not played out.
