history

Wester churches had since 1464 the seat of a chairman shaft as the smallest administrative unit in rural areas of the Duchy of Bavaria. The Catholic branch church of St. Michael , a hall church with a retracted choir and west tower, is a Baroque building from the 17th century. Westerskirchen came to the community of Schalkham when the community was being formed in Bavaria in 1818.
