Manuzi or Manuziya was a Hittite city that lay at the foot of the mountain of the same name. The insignificant city was not far from Kummani , the capital of Kizzuwatna , where the weather god of Manuzi had a temple.

Manuzi weather god

The weather god of Manuzi ( Hurrian : Teššub Manuzuḫi) was the main god in Kummani, where he owned a temple with an oracle . His statuette is a man with the golden eagle Eribuški on his shoulder. The Hittite great king Muršili II describes himself on a seal as the “darling of the weather god of Manuzi”. The ḫišuwa festival , founded by Queen Puduḫepa , was celebrated annually by Manuzi, the god of weather, provided that he cared for the salvation of the royal family. On this festival, among other things, a billy goat was offered to him as a salvation offering and a bird as a burnt offering, as well as fruit, honey and pastries as well as libations from silver vessels.

The weather god Paredros is the goddess Lelluri of Manuzi, who is sacrificed with him. Her name in -luri identifies her as a mountain goddess. This is confirmed by the fact that her statuette, together with that of the mountain god Adalur , was brought as booty from Ḫaššuwa to Ḫattuša by Ḫattušili I. In the temple of the weather god of Manuzi, besides the statute, there is also the stone table of the Lelluri.

In addition to Lelluri, various deified cult objects are worshiped as well as the "Gods of Manuzi" (hurr. Enna manuzuḫi ).
