The Wettersteinalm is an alpine pasture in the Wetterstein Mountains , which is at an altitude of 1464  m above sea level. NN is located halfway between Elmau (1008 meters) and the royal house and the Schachenhaus (1866 meters) on the Schachen . The Wettersteinalm offers a good view of the Wettersteinwand and you can climb from here through the Angerloch to the Meilerhütte (2374 meters).

Cattle have been summering on the Wettersteinalpe for centuries . Since the young cattle only graze on the Wettersteinalpe for about two to three months in summer, the Wettersteinalm is only open from June to September.
